Admission Requirements for University Education in Austria

Undergraduate Education

When you decide which department you will study in, you are ready to take your first step towards your education in Austria. In order to enroll in Austrian universities, you must take the university exam in Turkey and be eligible to receive undergraduate education. Therefore, we recommend that you make your department decision before taking the university exam in Turkey. You can enroll in the same department or the closest department in Austria, whichever department you were placed in in Turkey. However, you do not need to wait for the exam results to register. It is very important that you pre-register without waiting for the university exam, especially in order to avoid losing your term.

Another point to consider is this: Since the open education faculties, evening education and two-year vocational schools in Turkey do not have equivalents in Austria, applications from these institutions are not accepted.

High school graduation grades are also important in evaluating the application and increasing the chances of being accepted. In Austrian universities that receive a lot of applications, a graduation grade of 80 or above increases the chance of being accepted.

University students who continue their education in Turkey can also transfer to Austria. You can have the courses you took in Turkey counted, and you can only complete the remaining difference courses and be eligible to receive a diploma.

The university you will be placed in in Turkey may be a public university or a private university. For Private Universities, a placement certificate is sufficient. You do not need to register by depositing money.

Postgraduate Education

Although there are some differences in some departments, you are generally expected to have completed your undergraduate education and pass the ALES exam for your master’s degree at one of the Austrian universities. There may be a difference of around 4-5 courses due to the differences in the undergraduate programs of Austrian universities and Turkish universities. These courses must also be given before starting graduate education.

In the Austrian education system, it is not necessary to take any exams when transferring from undergraduate education to a master’s degree or completing a master’s degree and starting a doctoral program. You can start the next program directly.
