What is a vocational education certificate?

A vocational training certificate is a document that shows the training you have received in the relevant occupational field. Diplomas from universities, vocational high schools, vocational and technical Anatolian high schools, as well as vocational training center journeyman and master certificates, are defined as vocational training certificates. Certificates obtained from courses and/or seminars are not considered within the scope of vocational training certificates.

Accepted Vocational Training Certificates;

  1. Journeyman Certificate obtained from Vocational Training Centers of the Ministry of National Education, within the scope of Article 16 of Law No. 3308 on vocational training, or Master Certificate obtained within the scope of Article 28.b.
    Along with these certificates, a Transcript (Grade Report) showing the duration of training, courses taken during the training, and grades obtained during the training period must also be submitted.
  2. Diplomas from Vocational High Schools, Technical High Schools, Tourism and Hotel Management High Schools.

What are the placement criteria in Austria?

In Austria, the priority criteria for job placement are as follows:

  • Having no legal impediments in obtaining a passport and traveling to the European Union,
  • Holding a vocational training certificate,
  • Having experience in the vocational training field and being able to prove it with insurance records or work certificates,
  • Meeting the minimum requirement of 55 points in the scoring criteria,

How is the professional experience score calculated?

Professional experience is calculated based on your Social Security document, which indicates that you have worked in a profession corresponding to the occupational code specified in your vocational training certificate. For every 6 months you work in a profession corresponding to your vocational training, you are awarded 1 point as experience score.

What is a work certificate?

A work certificate is a document obtained from the institution where you worked in the past, between the entry and exit dates of your employment, which verifies that you performed the specified profession. If you are currently working at an institution, the work certificate should be obtained based on the entry date into that institution, confirming that you practice the specified profession.

Where can I get my language certificate?

German, English, French, and Spanish Language Proficiency certificates can be obtained by taking exams from institutions authorized to issue relevant certificates in Turkey. You can find accepted language certificates and language certificate exam centers in Turkey.

Is there a time limit for language certificates?

Foreign language certificates to be submitted should not be older than 2 years.

What is the scoring system?

It is a system where the Austrian government evaluates professional qualifications under the qualified migration law. In this system, a score is calculated based on your professional training certificate, professional experience, foreign language proficiency, and age, and a minimum score of 55 is required.

What is Rot-Weiss-Rot – Karte? What does it provide?

If I cannot reach an agreement with the employer and leave the job, can I use my Rot-Weiss-Rot – Karte right while working with another employer?

Unfortunately, you cannot. Rot-Weiss-Rot – Karte gives you the opportunity to work with the employer for whom you provided the job acceptance certificate during the application. If you cannot reach an agreement with your employer and leave the job, your right does not completely disappear; you need to reapply.

Can I extend the duration of Rot-Weiss-Rot – Karte?

Yes, you can. You can apply for an extension at the latest in the 21st month of the 24-month period and switch to Rot-Weiss-Rot Karte +. Rot-Weiss-Rot Karte+ allows you temporary residence and the opportunity to work without being limited to a specific employer.

Can I bring my family with Rot-Weiss-Rot Karte?

Yes, it is possible if you meet the “Family Reunification” criteria. However, you need to prove that you can provide for your family’s livelihood and accommodation by first going there and working for a certain period.

What is Family Reunification? What are the criteria?

Family Reunification is generally a visa type with a validity of 12 months, which individuals with a first-degree family member living in Austria can benefit from.

Spouses over the age of 21 and children under the age of 18 can benefit from it with at least A1 level proficiency in German, provided that they acquire language skills. A language certificate must be obtained from recognized institutions for language proficiency. A language certificate is not mandatory for children under 14 years of age.

Those wishing to benefit from this visa must have sufficient income during their stay in Austria without needing social support, and they must provide a rental contract or title deed for a suitable residence for all family members.
